Western Horseback Trail Rides
Our first horseback riding guest recommendation
One of my many treasured family memories is of horseback riding on vacation. Probably one of my earliest too. I remember the first time I was old enough to ride a horse without a guide rope. I also remember the mistake of wearing shorts.
It’s been years since I’ve had a family trail ride, but recently we were made aware of Western Horseback Trail Rides. They are praised for their phenomenal guided trail rides across Washington County, ranging from quick 1-hour introductory treks (the “City Slicker”) to stunning sunset cliff rides.
Nostalgia.

Another resource (a bit closer to the property): Spring Creek Ranch
They offer a scenic 1-hour-and-15-minute guided trail ride right outside the mouth of Spring Creek Canyon. The route takes you right along the base of the red rock cliffs, and pricing starts at $75 per person.
I can’t describe the connection you’ll feel to our beloved red rock land when you experience it on horseback, but I urge anyone to try.
